Life Analytics Wins CHI-Zone XR Grant

Life Analytics Wins CHI-Zone XR Grant to Develop Digital Mirror Therapy for Facial Rehabilitation.

Life Analytics Ltd, creators of Facial Dynamics, has been awarded a prestigious Extended Reality (XR) for Community Healthcare Small Grant from CHI-Zone, in partnership with the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.

The award will support the development of an advanced digital mirror therapy function within Facial Dynamics — designed to transform the rehabilitation journey for people recovering from facial palsy and stroke.

Accelerating Innovation in Facial Rehabilitation

Facial palsy can have profound clinical, functional and psychological consequences. Effective rehabilitation requires consistent, repetitive movement therapy, objective measurement and meaningful clinical feedback.

Through this grant, Life Analytics will work closely with academic experts and clinical partners at the University of Liverpool to build a high-end, usable digital mirror therapy capability into Facial Dynamics.

Digital mirror therapy uses augmented reality principles to provide visual feedback that supports motor relearning and neuroplasticity. By integrating this functionality into a mobile, accessible platform, Facial Dynamics aims to:

  • Support structured facial movement rehabilitation at home
  • Enhance patient engagement and motivation
  • Provide clinicians with objective, longitudinal movement data
  • Add measurable value to every face-to-face appointment
  • Improve functional and psychological outcomes during recovery

Backed by Clinical and Academic Excellence

The CHI-Zone XR for Community Healthcare programme supports innovative SMEs developing extended reality solutions with real-world healthcare impact.

Life Analytics is one of five companies selected for the programme and will receive tailored technical support, NHS clinical insight and academic expertise over the coming months.

We are particularly grateful to CHI-Zone, the University of Liverpool, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, and to Annemarie Naylor MBE DU Essex (Hon.) and colleagues for their support and belief in our mission.

A Milestone Moment for Life Analytics
